- The safety debate on these is genuinely unsettled and we are not going to pretend otherwise. Our objection is narrower and more practical: they exist to make an underwhelming formula palatable. They are associated in several studies with changes to the gut microbiome and glucose signalling, and stevia, monk fruit and xylitol do the job without the argument.

- Stevia, monk fruit, xylitol or erythritol.
