EDTA and synthetic chelators

Never allowedReviewed September 18, 2026

Tetrasodium EDTA · Disodium EDTA · Trisodium NTA · Edetate

Water softeners that stop minerals interfering with a formula.

What it does
Feel & finish
Our take
EDTA resists biodegradation, persists in waterways, and remobilizes heavy metals from sediment once it gets there. We carried two cleaning products with tetrasodium EDTA and delisted both in September 2026, since the alternatives already in our catalog do the same job with citrate.
Instead try
Sodium phytate and sodium citrate, both used throughout our own line.
