Heavy metals

Never allowedReviewed September 18, 2026

Metals that appear as contaminants of mineral pigments and clays rather than as declared ingredients.

What it does
Colour & shimmer
Our take
You will not see these on an ingredient list, which is exactly the problem. They arrive with talc, mica, iron oxides and clays. Lead, mercury, cadmium, arsenic and nickel are neurotoxicants and sensitisers with no safe cosmetic use. This is a supplier-testing question, and the honest limit of our screen: we verify ingredient lists. We do not run mass spectrometry.
Instead try
Ask any brand using mineral pigment for heavy-metal batch testing. The ones who have it will send it.
