Never allowedReviewed September 18, 2026

Solvents used to dissolve, thin or strip. They belong in a factory, not on skin.

What it does
Solvents & carriers
Our take
Every one of these is either a known or probable carcinogen, a reproductive toxicant, or a neurotoxicant at working exposure. None has a cosmetic function that a safer solvent cannot do. They turn up in nail products, hair straighteners and cheap imported cosmetics.
Instead try
Water, glycerin, propanediol and plant-derived glycols do every job these do in a cosmetic.
